My Top 5 Favorite Summer Activities in South Lake Tahoe
Visit Emerald Bay
If you’re from the area, then you know why this is at the top of my list. Emerald Bay offers crystal-clear blue waters, shimmering greens and is one of the most picturesque state parks in the region. Take in the views then hike down and immerse yourself in the lake’s tranquility. I do this every single summer!
Hike The Rubicon Trail
Around five miles from Emerald Bay is the Rubicon Trail. This hike is approximately 10 miles round-trip, but I can’t recommend it enough. I would also recommend getting there early, as the parking lot fills up fast (especially on the weekends). The trail goes along the water, making for beautiful sights that make those 10 miles worth it.
Paddleboard at Round Hill Pines Beach
Round Hill Pines Beach is hands-down one of my favorite beaches in South Lake. The beach offers lakeside dining and cocktails, making it the perfect beach for a friends hang-out or day-date (it’s also family-friendly). Paddleboarding at Round Hill is one of my favorite activities. It’s such a delightful way to take in the Tahoe landscape with spectacular shorelines and pristine waters.
Bike Along Sawmill Road Path
If I had to describe a perfect day, it would be getting my friends and family together, renting bikes and cruising along Sawmill Road Path. The path is around 3.6 miles round-trip and leads to Sawmill Pond, which is perfect for fishing. This is a must for your summer bucket list.
Explore Heavenly Village
I saved the best for last. Heavenly Village has always had a special place in my heart. From its quaint sidewalks to all the shopping, dining, relaxing and various activities you can do in just one place, Heavenly Village really has it all. This is where I opened my shop Champagne & Chocolate, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to call home.
I hope you enjoy these summer South Lake Tahoe activities as much as I do. If you try an of these, be sure to let me know on my Instagram or Facebook!
